Grades 1 & 2 - Spring Season 
 

We are always in need of people to volunteer to help coach at this level. Anyone interested is welcome to come on and learn as an assistant coach if you are unsure of your abilities. We also have several options for coaching clinics preseason each year.

Eligibility
All girls currently enrolled in the 1st or 2nd grade who reside in the Avon Grove School District, attend Avon Grove Charter, Octorara, Assumption, and Sacred Heart Schools; and/or who do not otherwise have a league where they reside.
 
Objective
To teach lacrosse fundamentals and instill the value of team athletics. To introduce the game of girls’ lacrosse to new players. And to have fun!
 
Season
The 2019 Spring season begins about March 18th and continues through late May/early June. 
 
Practice and Game Schedule
Practices will be held twice a week, beginning March 18, 2019. Practices are 90 minutes long.  This year's practice schedule is tentatively scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30 PM.  Practice locations anticipated to be PLE, AGIS, or the Technical College High School.
Games for 1st & 2nd grade girls will be in a Lacrosse Athlete Development Model, 4 v. 4, with no goalies. The girls will have 3 to 4 game days during the season. The program for 1st & 2nd graders is developmental in nature. The older teams (3-6 grade) have approximately 8 games including 2 to 3 tournaments during the season.
 
Equipment Requirements
Lacrosse stick, lacrosse eye goggles, mouth guard, cleats and sneakers. Lacrosse bag and gloves are helpful, but not essential. Players will be issued a returnable jersey, and a skort and socks to keep. In addition, parents will need to supply a white long sleeve shirt and black leggings to wear in colder weather.

Base Fee:     $100
Discount:      $20 per sibling (up to 3 siblings)

Winter Skills Training is not offered for this age group.
